Looking to avoid large groups / tourist traps

Hello - A group of friends and I have been going to ACE for a number of years and have loved it - but we are looking for a change this year. We would like to go with a smaller group of people to avoid the youth-group feel of the trip. Are there any recommendations for smaller outfitters who can provide a less canned experience than what the other companies offer?
Either Gaully or New would be fine - preferably an overnight trip.
